Students, Parents and Staff Celebrate Achievement

Tuesday evening was a real celebration of our students’ achievements this year.  A packed hall saw students receive achievement and progress awards for subjects, form prizes, and special awards.  Performances by singers and dancers included trailers for next week’s production of High School Musical.

The Guest of Honour was Terry Jones, Principal of Peterborough Regional College, who talked with enthusiasm of his career as a fighter jet pilot for the RAF, including his experience in Afghanistan.  The lesson he has learned from this is that you should always take risks, and that education is to be prized.  He told students of victims in war zones who still sent their children to school every day because they appreciated that it was the only way their lives would improve.  He urged the students in the hall to make the most of the opportunities that come their way.
