National Recognition

In September 2017 the government published the annual Parliamentary Review, a booklet that showcases ‘how determined leadership and innovative thinking can turn around organisations’  The 2017 edition features us as one of the schools that has been identified as doing exactly that.  I first received the invitation to be included at the end of last year but decided to keep to quiet until the document was published.  This happened last week and the news has been picked up by the local and national media.

This is really excellent news for us as a school.  I believe we were chosen in the first place after our excellent GCSE results last year, which prompted the government to look more closely at the school.  Bishop Alan wrote to us this week to pass on his congratulations, saying “How great that St John Fisher has been chosen for this review our of all the other Catholic schools!  It makes good and positive reading.  Well done, all of you!”

The booklet has a forward by the Prime Minister and this is followed by articles by other ministers as well as a feature on each school that was selected.

There is a copy of the booklet in Reception or you can download a copy HERE
